Don’t parboil the future

Wednesday’s article on oil spills and accidents totally misses the point that the oil will be burned as fuel to give off CO2 and trapped energy to worsen climate change/global warming, with the result of parboiling our descendants off Earth.
In 1931, Thomas Edison outlined the way to totally clean energy. He said, “I would put all my money on the sun and solar energy! What an incredible and never-ending source of power! I hope we don’t have to wait until all the coal and oil run out before we can tackle that fine idea.”
We may parboil our children’s future away before we run out of those dirty energy sources. I hope the people of Davis can get the ball rolling for action on Edison’s statement. One action being kept secret is a catalyst using sunlight to split water to get hydrogen, the clean energy to replace much oil, that oil companies are trying to prevent from happening.
Also, our mounting biowaste messes may bury our children’s futures, when they can be pyrolyzed to get charcoal and a fuel mix much like oil. When dumped, biowastes undergo natural biodegrading to re-emit CO2 and energy that nature has so kindly trapped for us.
All of our children are at significant risk of being parboiled off Earth by using fossil and nuclear energy, so let’s get to the risk-free energy source, the sun as Edison proposed 83 years ago.
