End secret campaign spending

By
From page B4 | May 29, 2013 |

Please join many Californians in support of the California Disclose Act Senate Bill 52.

The Disclose Act would enable us to know who is really paying for political campaign ads. We would see the top three funders in readable font at the front of each TV ad. It would be displayed for six seconds. It would be a part of ads in all media. We would know real funders rather than phony PAC names like Citizens for a Better Tomorrow.

All who are concerned about clean money and fair elections can go to www.CAclean.org and learn more and sign the petition for SB 52.

The Disclose Act is supported by 84 percent of citizens across all party lines, but for it to pass, it must jump through about seven hoops. Last Thursday, the Senate Appropriations Committee passed the bill on a vote of 5-2. There will be a full Senate floor vote this Thursday.

We need all citizens to write and call their legislators in support of the Disclose Act, now.

Let’s end secret big spending in California campaigns. Let’s take back our democracy from the billionaires.
