Fernandes has the right stuff

By
From page A8 | October 25, 2012 |

Alan Fernandes has my support for Davis school board. As a parent in my first-grade classroom, he consistently showed respect for the teaching profession. Enthusiasm, patience, thoughtfulness, caring, inquisitiveness, kindness and attention to detail are the traits he demonstrated as a classroom volunteer and during parent meetings.

Having young children in elementary school, his perspective will be long term. As a trustee, he will strive to equitably balance the needs of all K-12 students in these desperate economic times. With his legal and legislative background, Alan brings the skills and experience necessary to make the tough decisions facing education.

As a primary grade teacher and as a parent of a 2011 DHS graduate, I appreciate the excellence of our Davis schools. As a community member, I believe Alan has the dedication, commitment and innovative ideas needed to build consensus that will best serve the students of DJUSD.
