Fluoridation helps all ages

In the recent discussion regarding community water fluoridation, an early childhood dental care program was suggested as a positive solution to the fluoride question. Unfortunately, it is limited in scope and requires participation.

Water fluoridation is available to the entire population and individuals do not have to change their behavior to benefit. Water fluoridation helps prevent cavities for everyone, children and adults. In fact, for very young children, it is the only means of prevention without requiring a dental visit or motivation from parents and caregivers.

One common dental problem with older adults is root decay as a result of more gum recession. Add some difficult medical issues and you have a big problem. Fluoride helps them the same way. Water fluoridation is accessible and beneficial to the entire community regardless of age, health, and socioeconomic status.

How about adding vitamins to our water supply, also. just think how that would help folks who eat too much sugar and other foods which ain't all that great for the body. Yeh...I'd go for the vitamin additives...might as well make every one healthy, and not just their teeth...right!

There are known positive effects for your teeth if you take the proper amount of fluoride. The same goes for taking vitamins. However, what about the negative effects? They are mostly covered up or simply not mentioned in most propaganda, but there is plenty of info out there that shows there are significant negative effects to supplementing your diet with fluoride. With that said, citizens should be entitled to the option of taking fluoride or not, depending on how comfortable they are with the positive and negative effects. Forcing it upon the people is against the American way of life.

lots of opinion here. FLUORIDEGATE is a new documentary by Dr. David Kennedy (DDS) that reveals the tragedy of how government, industry and trade associations protect and promote a policy known to cause harm to our country and especially to small children who suffer more than any other segment of the population.
