I moved to Davis due to its history of activism, only to recognize thru the years that it had become a very conservative, wealthy little town, paying lip service to those values we fought so hard for in the 60’s & 70’s, but basically not doing much beyond that.
Recently I spoke with a couple of the City Council hoping to gain support for Congressman Weickowski’s Ca. Resolution to reverse Citizen’s United. I later emailed each member, none of which responded. Only one Council person was supportive at that time, Sue Greenwald.
Later I understand that the Occupiers actually got the rest of the council on board with it. So, Please…let’s encourage these young people to carry democracy forward, and if you can’t help then stay out of their way.

A friend of mine from Davis who lives in Del Norte County told me a few weeks ago that Bob Black, who was the county counsel for Del Norte County, just retired from that office.

I just took action recently by hanging out at the Occupy Monsanto for about an hour and signing the label GMOs petition. Not much, but a start!
