Golf outing a big hit

The Soroptimist International of Greater Davis club members would like to thank the following sponsors for their support of the club’s “19th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament” held July 20.

Tee Sponsors: First Northern Bank, Tandem Properties, Doug Prichard, State Farm Insurance, Yolo Federal Credit Union, Coldwell Banker Doug Arnold Real Estate, Mason-McDuffie Mortgage Corporation, Paul Johnson, DDS and Gene Pleyvak; Silver Sponsors: Jo Ann Handley, Edward Jones, Nicole Davis, financial adviser at Elsan Associates, and Navion Financial Advisors; Golf Sponsors: Davis Waste Removal, Mary Kobane VP-Investments Wells Fargo Advisors and Sterling A. The tournament was truly financially successful due in part to all of the sponsors and local businesses that donated items for the golfers prizes, raffle and silent auction.

The tournament winners were: John Poon and Ken Miller in the handicap flight; Jim Mitchell in the Callaway Flight; Larry Eichele and Susan Grant in the in the Preston Walchi “most accurate drive” competition, men’s and women’s category, respectively; Mary Kobane, and Dustin Eichele and Preston Walchi for closest-to-the-pin, women’s and men’s category, respectively.

Special thanks to all of the Soroptimist Club members and volunteers of Multi-Disciplinary Interview Center who worked diligently for the tournament.

Thanks to all the individuals and businesses who contributed to this very worthy cause–you know who you are! The beneficiary is MDIC , and organization benefiting victims of child abuse and their families in Yolo County.

A special thanks goes to The Davis Enterprise for their coverage of our event!
