At our best, we love to heal people. At our worst, we enjoy killing people. Osama bin Laden is dead. Millions of people in the USA celebrated his death. This is sad.
Jesus said, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your friends, hate your enemies.’ But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:43-44)
Like Osama bin Laden, we pick the parts of our religion that we agree with and ignore the words of our faith that we don’t like. Whatever religion you believe or don’t believe, history tells us all that “We reap what we sow.” Killing people will never lead to healing people. Hate kills, and love heals.
