Hey driver, be more careful

Dear guy who backed into me today with your car:

You know who you are. Today is Friday, May 2, and my son and I were in the parking lot of CVS/pharmacy in West Davis about 4 this afternoon. I apologize for not noticing that you had your very quiet car — a white large-model Chrysler or Cadillac — running and preparing to back up while I walked behind you.

You backed up and hit me, bruising my arm. I stood there stunned for a second and then walked out of the way. You looked around — the pause, the looking, the apparent consideration, led me to believe you know you ran into me. Then you drove off, exited the parking lot at considerable speed, and I didn’t get your license or feel like following you.

You hit me and ran — this is a crime. More importantly (since I’m OK, you barely hurt me), you may do this to a child, a dog, the next victim who doesn’t avoid your car. Be more careful, please, and if you hit someone again, get out of your car and apologize and ask if your victim is OK!
