Even before I served as the first female Yolo County supervisor, I learned that there is really nothing more important to our future in Davis, Yolo County and the state of California than to secure a safe, reliable water supply. Measure I is a golden opportunity to do just that for our community. The water experts, the Water Advisory Committee and a unanimous City Council all agree on the clear necessity to pass Measure I.
In all my years in Davis, I cannot think of a more important ballot measure voters have had before them to vote on. Unfortunately, the higher rates are inevitable here, as they are in counties and counties all over the state facing these same needs for a safe water supply, addressing an inadequate and aging infrastructure and worsening water quality.
Measure I is an investment in the future. We owe making this investment to the future generations of Davisites.
