An advertisement supporting Mariko Yamada for state Assembly appeared on Page 2 of The Davis Enterprise on Sunday. It all looked so good; the problem is that reality paints a different picture.
In the ad, she touts her support for agriculture, yet in the California Assembly, she backed legislation that would have burdened agricultural operations with unworkable regulations while opening the door for unscrupulous lawyers to sue farmers.
The ad claims she supports small business, but her record indicates she really supports more regulations, increased taxes and more government mandates.
The Yolo County Farm Bureau endorsed her opponent, John Munn. John is committed to fiscal responsibility and regulatory sanity. Rich Rifkin, in a Davis Enterprise column on Aug. 29, challenged local Democrats to cross the aisle and vote for John Munn. The citizens of Yolo County need John Munn in the California Assembly.
