Joyful celebration, great cause

By From page A10 | January 30, 2014

On Jan. 20, there was a wonderful event at the Davis Unitarian Universalist Church. The Rhythm of Love concert celebrated the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. It was a lovely and joyful musical celebration, and the Yolo Interfaith Immigration Network was fortunate enough to be the beneficiary of the event.
On behalf of YIIN, I would like to thank the Davis UU Church, Laura Sandage (the organizer of the event and director of the choirs), the UU Sparks Choir, the Free Range Singers and musicians Ray Frank, Nancy Lower and Johnny Flores for making the Rhythm of Love such an inspiring celebration of MLK’s profound legacy.

People were very generous in their donations to YIIN, and we are so very thankful for this financial support. It will allow us to continue our programs for farmworker families at the Madison Migrant Center.

Alison Pease
President, Yolo Interfaith Immigration Network
