Can’t find anything Googling your reference. What are the details? Did Yolo County really pay $400,000 (in 1992 dollars!) to resolve what must have been a major mistake by Ms. Beronio? Has anyone asked the candidate about this during the campaign?

Yeates Beronio’s name prior to marriage. However this case goes back to 1992 when Beronio was only in her first or second year as a commissioner.

Jesse, do you have any basis for this “history”? If so, you should provide links to the facts. Just “asking” the judge if if something out of the blue is true is not a legitimate way to drop it into the campaign. I’d agree that this would be a serious consideration if true. Without not a tiny bit of truth, it’s just dirty campaigning.

Judge Rosenberg, did your candidate in her role as Commissioner have an innocent man arrested without legal authority and thrown in jail, apparently because she did not know the law and was unable to control her courtroom without violating the law? Did the subsequent lawsuit result in a settlement in which the Yolo County taxpayers paid $400,000 to the wrongly confined man? Is this action of your candidate part of the record that you cite as to why Yolo County Voters should elect your candidate? Does your support of the candidate mean that you also support the violation of civil rights and waste of taxpayer dollars?

If “ALL judges and commissioners in California are ‘inactive’ members of the State Bar because that’s what the law requires,” why do many maintain “active” status with the bar? Methinks Judge Rosenberg is trying to confuse us about what the meaning of “inactive” is. The normal meaning of “active status” with respect to the state bar doesn’t really refer to whether the person is actively practicing law, but to an official status.
