Keep control of water supply

By From page A6 | February 28, 2013

Oil is precious and very expensive. Why? Because there is a monopoly. Years ago there were many independent oil companies and there was competition that kept the price down.

What is more precious than oil? Water! That is why a No vote on the Measure I is necessary. If a for-profit private company controls the source and cost of water, the consumer will have no control. A beautiful yard or vegetable garden may become too expensive for most people if Measure I became law. Hence, we need to keep the control of our water supply with our local people in Davis. Our current system has long served us and can continue to do so.

My other important concern is that if Measure I passes there probably will be solid city between Davis, Woodland and Sacramento River. There will be too much money for large corporations to make in cooperation with a private, for-profit water company.

Vote No on Measure I.
