Kudos to county elections staff

By From page A6 | December 12, 2012

Our family was overseas on Election Day. We have been voting by mail for many years, and were enthusiastically looking forward to doing so this year. We made arrangements for the U.S. Postal Service to forward our mail to us while we were away. Unfortunately, our absentee ballots did not arrive.

With time slipping away, we emailed Lori Meirowsky at the Yolo County Elections Office to inquire about our options. Within 24 hours, she had confirmed our valid registration status, and replied to us electronically with the forms required for email or fax voting. We quickly filled in the ballots, and submitted them by fax. Shortly thereafter, we received an email confirming that our ballots were received in time to be counted.

We are so pleased to have been able to participate in this year’s election. Well done, Ms. Meirowsky and staff! What wonderful customer service!
