Let’s boycott gold, diamonds
We celebrate the Gold Rush days, but in reality the California Gold Rush was an environmental disaster for California, which persists until today and will carry on into the distant future.
There is now discussion as to whether the ban on the practice of suction dredging should be lifted. Do we ever learn anything?
Gold and diamond mining has brought environmental and social disaster wherever it goes throughout the world. We gawk at the diamonds, and for the most part after we extract the gold from the bowels of the Earth, at great cost, we bury it again in dark vaults underground. It is crazy! (Aliens watching us from outer space are very puzzled by this behavior)
Vast numbers of indigenous people around the world have been displaced and even murdered, to facilitate the lust for gold and diamonds.
I would like to see a boycott of gold and diamonds throughout the world. Don’t be fooled by the commercials on TV. Buying this overpriced blood-stained junk is not how you prove your love.
