If you have mail to be picked up from your home, do not place it in the box unless you know in advance that mail is to be delivered to you.
Yesterday we placed 6 envelopes visibly on the outside of our mail box for pick up, as we frequently do, but they were not picked up. Neither was there any mail delivered to our house.
Today the Post Service explained that unless there is mail delivery, there is no pick up from any house. This was explained as not a recent policy, but one of long standing.
Since on any one day one cannot predict there is mail to be delivered to their home, you may be likely not to have outgoing mail picked up.
Now we know. This is from the Postal Service?
