My choices on education issues

By From page A14 | November 04, 2012

I have been a Davis resident for 26 years, and a teacher for 20-plus years. I have been asked about how I am voting on the educational issues facing Davis voters. At the state level, there are two important issues, Prop. 30 and Prop. 32. Please vote yes on the governor’s initiative, Prop. 30: It seeks to stabilize funding for education and other critical services. Please help defeat Prop. 32; it is not what it seems. It would silence teacher voices on educational issues. Vote no on Prop. 32.

I support Measure E. In Davis, we are fortunate to be able to support our schools locally, even if the state does not. For school board, I look forward to working with Alan Fernandes, and continuing to work with Susan Lovenburg.

Thank you for supporting the issues important for our students.

Cathy Haskell
