Mystery Night a big success

By

The Friends of the Woodland Public Library hosted another very successful Mystery Night on March 30. Guests were able to enjoy the lively and entertaining play “Measure E Murder” written by Emily MacDonald (former member of the Library Board of Trustees) and directed by Diana Dearmore (president of FOL).

A group of Woodland VIPs acted in the play, including Carli Allen, Dan Bellini, Duane Chamberlain, Martie Dote, Al Eby, Jim Hilliard, Carol Rawlings, Tom Stallard and Kristy Wright. FOL would like thank our performers for their talent, time and enthusiasm.

FOL also would like to thank the following for their excellent support and service during the evening: Michelle Cote and the students of the Woodland Polytechnic Academy for preparing and serving scrumptious heavy appetizers; Simas Family Vineyard, Capay Valley Wines, Berryessa Gap Vineyards and Berryessa Brewing Company for providing excellent wine and beer; and the WAVE, Channel 21 President Randy Russell (community liaison of FOL) for filming the play.

A very special thanks to the numerous hard-working volunteers who made the evening a great success. Many heartfelt thanks to our guests for making the evening fabulous and for raising more than $6,000 to support children, teen and adult programming at the library.

Finally, FOL would like to gratefully thank the local businesses and individuals from Woodland, Davis, Winters and the surrounding area that donated more than 50 incredible silent auction gifts.

It was a “murderously” fun evening to support another year of community programming at the library.
