No on new political appointees

By From page A12 | November 04, 2012

Measure H will replace a democratically elected auditor with a political appointee by creating yet another highly paid county position. Do we really want to hand over the finances of the county to a manager appointed by the county supervisors?

There simply isn’t enough information on Measure H to convince me that creating a new position for a political appointee will be in the best interests of the taxpayers. If we want to raise the credential requirements for any county job, change the requirements! We don’t need to relinquish the public’s control over the process.

I think we should vote no on Measure H.
