Ortiz walks the talk

By From page B7 | June 01, 2014

After assessing the two candidates for Yolo County superintendent of schools, I have come to my conclusion who could best serve our schools. In making my decision, the biggest factor that is clear is who is “committed” to Yolo County and who can develop the partnerships that would benefit our children. That person is Jesse Ortiz.

His opponent has said he has lived in Yolo County for 20 years but he has no history of serving the children of Yolo County. Ortiz’s involvement in educational and community engagement appears to expand close to 35 years. That is “commitment.”

My vote always will favor the candidate who has walked the talk, not just started the talk six months ago.

Join me in electing Jesse Ortiz as the next Yolo County superintendent of schools.
