Peterson’s an experienced leader

By
From page A6 | October 16, 2012 |

I became acquainted with Nancy Peterson when we served together on the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee. I admire her deep understanding of the issues facing the school district and her dedication to working hard for the children of Davis.

Nancy was one of the few parents on SPAC who had served on a School Site Council. She understood the limitations the government imposes on school funding. She focused on how to spend discretionary state and federal grants to benefit all students, especially those struggling to achieve.

Nancy also has helped coordinate parent volunteer efforts at neighborhood schools and the high school. I appreciate her leadership in working with teachers and parents to help our schools.

Nancy is an engaged, committed and strong advocate for students. Nancy would be a new voice and a welcome addition to the Davis school board.
