Please support Alan Fernandes

By
From page A4 | October 12, 2012 |

Please join me in supporting Alan Fernandes in the upcoming school board election. I have served many years with Alan on various boards and commissions, including the Business and Economic Development Commission for the city of Davis, the board of directors for the California Bicycle Museum and the board of directors for the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame.

Working with these groups, I have come to respect Alan on many levels. He is a thoughtful and experienced leader with a special knack for diplomacy — even in tense situations. He is uncharacteristically thorough — always wanting to become an expert on the issues and never cutting corners on his background work.

Maybe most importantly, Alan cares deeply about our community and especially about kids in our community. With two young ones of his own, it’s no surprise to me that a leader like Alan is taking a keen interest in the quality and the future of our schools. I’m looking forward to the kind of creative thinking and strong leadership Alan will bring to the board.
