Police are our friends, right?

By From page A10 | August 22, 2014

When I was a child in the 1950s, the police walked the beat in our neighborhood and were our friends. We even had a song about “The Kind Policeman.” That was in New York City ( that big, scary city).
Now in 2014, our quiet little college town is going to be protected by police in a Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected vehicle.
Which picture is the right picture?
“A little girl talking to a police officer” or “A little girl talking to a Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected vehicle”?
