Poor mail service on Kent Drive

By From page A5 | August 21, 2013

Our neighborhood has had extremely poor mail service recently. During the period between July 12 and 20 this year, several residents on Kent Drive had as many as four days with no mail delivery. During that time packages, medications, checks, credit cards, bills and a large amount of other first-class mail was never received.

We came home from a recent week’s vacation to find half of the mail in our mailbox belonged to our neighbor. We often receive mail with the same house number but for a different street in Davis.

Our street has an active Neighborhood Watch program that includes us emailing each other when problems arise. Our in box has been full of dissatisfaction with our mail service and missing mail. Telephone calls to our post office have fallen upon deaf ears. Some of us are now registering complaints with the postal investigative services about missing and presumably stolen mail.

I am sending this letter to the editor by email. Obviously, I cannot trust the post office to deliver a letter anywhere successfully.
