We support Bob Poppenga for Davis school board. He is a sincere and honest person, a dedicated educator and a loving parent. We strongly agree with what he said: “Leadership is needed to assure investment in teachers and their professional development, to forge new public and private partnerships to expand the district’s resources, and to preserve parental choice in selecting programs that best fit the needs of their children.”

As a dedicated educator at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Bob knows teachers are the heart of quality education. He will nurture a teacher-driven culture of professional excellence and will encourage professional dialogue and feedback that are critical to driving enhancement and innovation in classrooms and other school activities.

Bob understands the importance of promoting the communication and language skills of our students, so that they will thrive in the increasingly globalized world. Bob and his wife Amy have been supporters of a strong and sustainable world language program in Davis schools. They spent countless hours and made generous donations to save the Chinese and German language programs when these programs were on the chopping block during difficult economic times.
