In boxing, when one boxer loses on purpose to the other boxer, the phrase is “the fix is in.” It appears that “the fix is in” in the presidential race. At least that’s a plausible explanation for Mitt Romney’s self-destructive behavior.
The question is, if the “fix is in,” what does Romney get out of it? Goldman Sachs is not being prosecuted, for one. Investigations into Wall Street wrongdoings are being done by a minimal staff for another. In the future, President Obama, like Bill Clinton who gave us NAFTA, actually might be able to accomplish more of the right wing’s agenda than Romney — so, why not?
FYI, Obama is giving his acceptance speech as candidate for president for the Democratic
Party at the Charlotte, N.C., “Bank of America” stadium.
It appears the “big people” get real results no matter what, while the “little people” get the illusion of power and, perhaps, some entertainment.
“The fix is in.”
