Proud to be part of this community
In late September, the University Retirement Community had its 13th annual Bizarre Bazaar at 1515 Shasta Drive. The bazaar raised a record amount for the URC Foundation, a nonprofit that offers help to residents who, because of long illness or other unforeseen events, are in need of financial assistance.
We deeply appreciate the fact that this has become a communitywide bazaar and is supported by so many people in Davis and the surrounding towns. We would like to express our thanks to The Enterprise for its coverage, Sutter Davis Hospital for allowing customers to use its parking area, Davis Ace for the donation of red aprons for our sales personnel, Nugget Market and Trader Joe’s for large paper sacks, and Doug Scougale of Yolo Gold and Silver in Woodland and Emma Luna of Davis for their help with appraisals.
We also thank the many customers who showed up for the sale in spite of the threat of rain, and for the many others who have used our website, urcad.org. Davis is a wonderful community and we are proud to be a part of it.
