Mr. Livingston is not a citizen of Davis. He does not pay taxes that benefit Davis. He can’t vote in Davis elections. He should be transparent if he wants transparency.

Excellent point. For some who view ConAgra as a big, bad corporation, then The Cannery project by extension, must also be bad. Oh well, no point arguing with irrationality.

If they had a history of not carrying out the will of the people, then they would not still be in office. Clearly, the majority of the citizens are smart enough to not vote for candidates who have shown a history of ignoring the public’s wishes. What’s clear is that the city council has not followed YOUR wishes. Perhaps you become more active in politics and run for office or support an alternate candidate, instead of trying to overturn the will of the people who elected these councilmembers.

If they had any history of listening to and carrying out the will of the majority of Davis citizens, then we wouldn’t have to vote on these types of issues.

It seems like a stretch that, because ConAgra fought against Prop 37 (the GMO labeling ballot measure), there must be a problem with this development. It’s a non sequitur.
