Remembering Lance Stenson

By
From page A6 | February 19, 2014 |

Davis recently lost an iconic figure when longtime family physician and friend, Lance Stenson, passed away unexpectedly. I have wonderful memories of Lance but will most remember the lessons I learned just from watching him.

Lance was always, always upbeat and optimistic, even in later years when faced with painful, chronic health issues. Years ago when our children were young, he was a loud, boisterous soccer coach. He could be heard from a half-mile away, but was always encouraging and positive. I will never forget the fun we had coaching against each other. The fun we had always filtered down to the players.

Finally, there isn’t a month that goes by without me remembering the most valuable lesson of all. Lance never, ever missed a chance to publicly acknowledge, compliment and appreciate his wife, Margo. He always gave her credit for everything good in his life stating, “She’s the one who makes it all happen!” A great lesson for husbands everywhere.

Thank you, Lance Stenson. I will miss you.
