Rocknasium hosts youths

Thank you, Rocknasium, for hosting Tuleyome Home Place Adventures Youth Outdoors. On Wednesday, March 12, a group of 30-plus youths from all over Yolo County enjoyed climbing the walls, thanks to the wonderful staff and facilities at Rocknasium. Participants included youth from Winters Rise, Esparto Rise and the Woodland Coalition for Youth.

During this experience, the students learned how to belay, working together in teams to get each other safely up and down the climbing walls. It was inspiring to watch not only the collaboration, but also supportive culture this activity created as the kids rooted for each other during their climbs.

Perhaps one of the best parts was watching some conquer their fears, as several of the students were afraid to climb in the beginning. By the end of the trip, everyone made it up and down the walls successfully and safely.

Thank you, Rocknasium, for making this activity possible for these youths. Tuleyome Home Place Adventures is sponsored by the Conaway Preservation Group, the Pacific Gas & Electric Co., the Wynant Foundation and U.S. Bank. For more information about Tuleyome Home Place Adventures for youth, families and the public, visit www.tuleyome.org.
