See our city waste water

By From page A6 | April 30, 2014

Anyone who passes through downtown Davis early in the morning will see exactly what residents are admonished not to do: huge water waste. The narrow grass strips between sidewalk and street (as well as the sidewalks and street) are lavishly and inefficiently watered well past the point of runoff, with water flowing along the gutters.

They are a relic of the free-water days and should be replaced with something not requiring water or maintenance, such as concrete.
