Sexual conflict is a driver

By From page A10 | October 13, 2013

Gloria Partida’s searching and poignant essay in last Sunday’s paper poses the crucial question of compassionate justice. Is it possible, after the attacker brutally beat up her son Mikey within an inch of his life?

The main thing to remember about attackers of gay people is that they are severely sexually conflicted. They have an internal sexual identity struggle. In fact, it has been written that all killers are sexually conflicted. They don’t want to be gay! The internal struggle explodes in violence.

A psychiatrist deals with this in that the struggle can be dealt with once verbalized. The sexual identity can’t be changed, but accepted. Our jails are filled with the sexually conflicted, and Mikey’s attacker will feel right at home.
