After careful consideration and numerous opportunities to observe, listen to, and interact with the candidates, the best choices for Davis City Council have become clear. I am voting for Sheila Allen and Rochelle Swanson.
Sheila offers so much as a future council member: significant budget experience; success in working with other members of a board; and a community-wide approach to policy-making. She is a nurse, a public health professional and a Davis mom, having raised a family here in Davis with her husband Mitch for the past 20 years. Everyone I know who knows Sheila says she is a fine person, kind, smart, thoughtful and full of integrity.
Rochelle offers experience and maturity in office, a lawyer’s familiarity with the legal implications of decisions as well as a business owner’s understanding of what is needed by Davis business owners to operate successfully in this town. She, too, has lived in Davis for many years, raising a family here and contributing in numerous ways to the betterment of Davis.
In order to have a balanced City Council going forward, I am voting for both of these female candidates … who will continue a long tradition of female leadership in and from our community/region.
Please vote for Sheila and Rochelle!
