Storytime was a big success

The city of Davis Child Care Services Resource and Referral Office would like to thank all the families who participated at the family storytime event on March 22. Families were eager to meet children’s author, songwriter and storyteller John Archambault. Approximately 125 parents and children arrived with books in hand and read along as Archambault shared his latest hip-hop version of “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.”

His strongest message to families was, “If you can sing it, you can read it.” Archambault emphasized how important it is to make a strong connection between rhythm and rhyme and literacy. Archambault greeted all the families and autographed his classic children’s books and CDs.

We would like to give a special thank you to the Stephens Branch Library and the Friends of the Davis Library for providing the room accommodation and collaboration for the event.
