Strong listening skills are asset

By From page A18 | October 07, 2012

Over the past several years, I have had the tremendous privilege of serving with Nancy Peterson on the Davis Junior Blue Devil board. Nancy served on the board of the DHS Blue & White Foundation and we had the unique opportunity to work together when I freelanced as a graphic designer.

The qualities that best describe Nancy, in my opinion, are her strong listening skills and her fair treatment of everyone. When she attends various meetings, she listens first and then speaks. It is the respect she shows toward her peers that, in turn, is given back to her when she speaks: We listen because we know what she’s sharing and contributing is important.

On a more personal level, my favorite characteristics of Nancy are her sense of humor and strength of character. It’s a great honor to count Nancy among my closest friends and I know she will work tirelessly for all Davis children. Nancy has my vote!
