It’s a wrap for Yolo Farm to Fork’s 2014 Tour de Cluck. Nine local restaurants supported the Fowl Food Frolic by each contributing a donation or percentage of their choice from a “fowl” signature dish to support the fifth annual Tour de Cluck fundraising event in May.
A total of $1,229 was donated by Yanni Pandeleos of Symposium Restaurant, Tamas Torok of Seasons, Eva Burger of The Farmers Wife/Little Prague, Shar and Kevin Katz and Kris Souza of Caffé Italia, Ivan Franks of The Hotdogger, Bobby Coyote of Dos Coyotes (North Davis and South Davis), Pru Mendez of Tucos and Charlie Swanson of The Davis Graduate.
Each of these restaurant owners is committed to providing quality service and creative culinary selections to us in Davis. We are very fortunate to have these individuals in our community who support good food and support the programs that the farm-to-school program promotes in our local schools and throughout Yolo County.
These funds will be used to continue and sustain the gardening programs, improve the nutritional offerings in school lunches and continue to reduce each school’s carbon footprint with the DavisRISE waste management program.
These local restaurant owners have invested their time and talents for many years for your enjoyment and dining pleasure. It is our hope that people in Davis take the opportunity to support these local restaurants more. There is no reason to leave the community to have an enjoyable culinary experience.
