The most qualified of all the candidates for City Council in this year’s election is Rochelle Swanson. I have had the opportunity to work with Swanson and found her to be an excellent listener with superb analytical skills. Couple her observational skills with her ability to recognize and apply conciliation and consensus management processes and you have a public servant that our community deserves and needs.
In serving with her on a recent I-Gate committee for two years, I recognized her devotion to the work at hand and ability to find the deeper understanding of the real issues behind the work in process that, before her time, has led to inaccuracies, misunderstandings and poor conclusions. She has been instrumental in rectifying such mistakes during her time on I-Gate and with other groups, including the City Council itself.
She has shown patience when needed, a keen insight for seeing the true implications and full effects of council decisions, and has had years of experience putting her wide array of skills to work on the council — which others lack. A vote for Rochelle Swanson is a vote for good government and not politics as we currently see at the state and national levels.
