Team Davis thanks supporters

By From page A12 | November 11, 2012

Team Davis — our local nonprofit organization that provides children and adults with disabilities with athletic, social and recreational activities — would like to thank the many local businesses, organizations and individuals who have contributed so much to our participants this year.

Thanks to Swim America, Davis Aquadarts, Wildhorse Golf Course and UC Davis’ Campus Recreation & Unions for providing facilities that allowed us to enjoy swimming, golfing and bowling practices in preparation for our participation in Special Olympics tournaments.

We also want to thank the Rebekah Lodge/Odd Fellows Lodge, NewStar Chinese School, Golden Valley Harriers Running Club, Pinkberry and UC Davis Athletics (Aggie Idol as well as various sports clinics) for hosting fundraisers and other fun events for us. Special shout-outs go to graphic designer Steve Cedre at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd law firm for designing our new logo and to Helga Krumbeck and Bjorn Kjolseth at Alphabit for developing our website.

Finally, thank you to all the head coaches, assistant coaches, teachers, board members and other volunteers who put in countless hours to keep our sports program, art classes, dance parties and vegetable garden thriving and well organized. Team Davis is an all-volunteer organization; we have no paid staff. To find out what this amazing group of volunteers and our more than 125 participants are doing each week, visit our website at www.team-davis.org.
