On June 15, our daughter was in a bad bicycle accident and we want to thank the young man who found her. We know his name is Josh Taylor, but do not have a phone number or address to thank him.
Josh found our daughter approximately 15 minutes after she slammed her bike into the wall of the bike underpass tunnel near Cowell Boulevard and was knocked unconscious. Josh called Anna’s mom and calmly explained the situation and stayed with Anna until help arrived. He was extremely helpful and very brave.
The scene was difficult to witness and Anna was not thinking clearly and covered in blood.
We are very grateful for your help, Josh, and would like to thank you in person. Also, thank you to Officer Francisco Telavera of the Davis Police Department, and Davis Fire Department and American Medical Response paramedics.
We are also grateful to the community of support we received. While riding in the ambulance, Anna was being put on prayer chains at University Covenant Church and First Baptist Church. Also, Congregation Bet Haverim prayed for her during Saturday services.
The quick and constant prayers have been so healing for Anna and our entire family. Friends and church members have reached out to offer help and support.
Also, where else but Davis would your orthodontist come to the emergency room to check the condition of her teeth and your pediatrician do a home visit? We are so grateful for Dr. Matthew Molitor for visiting Anna and helping us through the process of next steps for dental care. We are thankful for Dr. Ron Pisciotta for getting her in quickly to do X-rays.
And, thank you very much to our fabulous pediatrician, Yvonne Otani, who couldn’t wait to see Anna on Monday, so she came to the house and checked in on her on Friday!
What a community to live in if you are in need. Sometimes it does take a village; thank you for being our village this week. Anna is home and making a good recovery, thanks to everyone.
