Thanks for helping Yolo kids

We want to end child abuse and neglect in Yolo County. During April, many of you helped and we thank you.

Thanks to everyone who bought tickets to the Children’s Alliance and Child Abuse Prevention Council’s fundraising events during April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month and especially our sponsors, who gave such generous support to the Project Prevention Fashion Show and the Child Abuse Prevention Family Fun Run.

We use the money we raise throughout the year to help children and families get food, health care, parent education, case management and other services they need to have stable families.

We especially want to thank our sponsors. Once again, we received $10,000 from our lead sponsor — the Davis Rotary Club!

Other major contributors were Sutter Davis Hospital and the Winn Foundation. Generous donations also were made by Dr. Yvonne Otani, Kaiser Permanente, Richland Communities, Carvalho Family Winery, Hallmark Inn of Davis, California Fuel Cell Partnership and Broderick Roadhouse Restaurant. Professional photography for the fashion show was provided by M3 Photography.

Many local businesses and individuals donated at the sponsorship level and we greatly appreciate their support. They include Local Laborers Union No. 150, Davis Waste Removal, Capital West Realty, Bill and Karen Ziebron, The Ziebron Group, Jorge Ayala, Davis Ace Hardware, NCCT, Aldrete Communications, Gordon Lee, Capitol Bowl, Laura D. Heintz, Carol von Kaenel, Dick Huang, Lisa Baker, Patrice Hargrove-Bonfield and Marnelle Gleason.

Through everyone’s combined efforts of donations and ticket purchases, the Children’s Alliance raised more than $35,000 during April to support programs and services aimed at making a positive difference in the lives of Yolo County children.

Thank you!

Katie Villegas

Executive director, Yolo County Children’s Alliance
