Thanks for ‘Messiah’ support

By
From page A6 | January 10, 2014 |

On behalf of the Davis High School Advanced Treble Choir, Baroque Ensemble, Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers, we would like to acknowledge our appreciation and gratitude for the outpouring of support received from the community in Davis High School’s inaugural performance of Handel’s “Messiah” on Dec. 20 and 21.

This event, which provided a platform for showcasing the magnificent talents of our students, couldn’t have occurred without the support and assistance of a number of individuals. We would like to take a moment to say thank you to:
* St. James Catholic Church, for providing its lovely sanctuary as the venue for the concert, a fitting location for Handel’s glorious masterpiece;

* Jeff Pelz for recording this event;

* Ron and the staff at Watermelon Music, our steadfast connection for ticket sales to the community;

* Davis High School alumni guest soloists Megan Buchanan, Clarissa Lyons, Lisa Parente, Evan Pretzlaff and Brad Soler for their lyrical and radiant performances; and

* Jeff Hudson of The Davis Enterprise for covering this event.
We are truly indebted to these folks and the countless other organizations, businesses and individuals who contribute their time, funding and talents throughout the year to help orchestrate the beautiful synchronization that is the passion and excellence of our student musicians.

Karen Gardias and Angelo Moreno
Davis
