Thanks to Frank Loge and Matt Williams for their Forum piece a few days ago justifying the proposed rate structure under the Measure I water plan. Their column nicely clarifies the provision that charges more for consumption during periods of high peak water use, countering the critics who claim lack of proportionality.
Davis needs the project. It makes sense to cooperate with Woodland in bringing a new supply of surface water to our community. Certainly, we will pay more in our water bills for this project. But spending more to ensure an adequate, clean supply of domestic water for the future is smart policy.
Count us among the voters of Davis who say yes to Measure I.
