YOLO COUNTY NEWS
99 CENTS

Thanks to ringers and donors

The Davis Salvation Army Committee would like to thank the many folks who helped us earn $19,600 during our annual holiday bell ringing at CVS/pharmacy in East Davis, the Davis post office, The Avid Reader, Davis Ace and Nugget Market in East Davis.

The following groups rang for one or more days: Davis Chinese Church, First Baptist Church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. James Church, University Covenant Church, Davis Rotarians, Soroptimist International of Davis and Greater Davis, Kiwanis Club, Odd Fellows, Davis real estate professionals, Davis Lutheran Church of the Incarnation and Davis Lutheran Church.

The Davis Enterprise advertised our need for individual bell ringers and First Northern Bank staff members generously counted our coins.

Close to $10,000 of the earnings will be used in August for the annual shopping day at JC Penney. A total of $2,000 is used for grocery gift cards for STEAC holiday baskets, and $7,000 will be used for food and clothes vouchers for families in need in Davis. The referrals for Salvation Army resources come from counselors in the Davis Joint Unified School District and Davis Community Meals.
