These stories deserve to be told

By From page A12 | November 10, 2013

Not long ago, I finally began reading Tom Brokaw’s book “The Greatest Generation.” The Davis Enterprise’s “Yolo at War” series is the perfect complement to that magnificent work.

The local angles that The Enterprise chose to examine are captivating and illuminating. All of the participating writers have done justice to stories that deserve to be told to a new generation, to help perpetuate understanding of the sacrifices, fears, hardships and injustices that people on this soil endured all those decades ago.

The willingness of The Enterprise to commit precious limited resources to a project of this magnitude warrants the gratitude of the community. In this era in which so many large-city as well as small-town newspapers have folded, we in Davis are very fortunate to be served by a daily newspaper as vibrant and — well — enterprising as our Davis Enterprise.
