The Reynoso report discloses that a woman spoke to the chancellor’s Leadership Team for 40 minutes about the judgmental error the team was making in planning the use of police force on the Quad. She also had contradicted the police report that non-students predominated the Quad population. The response was “dead silence.”
A woman police chief directed that her officers not use riot gear and weapons but to back off in the face of forceful opposition. She opposed the 3 p.m. attack plan. She was countermanded by her officers and ignored by the Leadership Team.
And finally, a woman is the chancellor who did not want a forceful confrontation, but decisions are made by the men on her Leadership Team “by consensus” for her “ratification.” As a result, she ratifies and then the Leadership Team members individually determine for themselves what was decided and ratified.
Therefore, factual and rational views of the women were ignored. Command decisions by women were countermanded and misinterpreted.
The Reynoso report has missed the most obvious remedial recommendation. The UCD administration needs to get rid of its women.
