Vote yes on Measure E

By From page A4 | October 30, 2012

I am fortunate enough to be able to volunteer in my children’s classes and I see first-hand the challenges our schools are facing every minute of every day. Already, we have lost so many amazing teachers and broken up teams of teachers who have been working together for years. We cannot afford to lose any more. The class size increases have altered our children’s learning environment in profound ways.

Our family moved to Davis so our children could attend public schools, we have come to love the community and the way of life here. Measure E does not fix the problems schools are facing; only dramatic changes in the state budget can do that. However, it does protect what we all have worked so hard to create — a safe, vibrant community with strong home values and well-educated children.

The price we pay is far cheaper than any of the alternatives.
