Recently I got an email that seemed to come from the U.S. Postal Service saying that they had attempted delivery of a certified letter, and that it was now waiting for me at the local post office. Although I’m wise to spam, it was sophisticated (no spelling errors, etc.), looked real and I clicked on the link. Luckily, I have a Mac so apparently no harm was done, but this spam could be dangerous to a PC without sufficient protection.
I called the local post office when the link didn’t go through, and they said the P.O. doesn’t send out email, and this is indeed a spam that appears to come from the post office, FedEx or UPS.
I just wanted to give the Davis community a heads-up. We have enough to worry about without getting an unwanted virus.
