We can do more to help

Times are tough, folks! As to the homeless problem, be compassionate. Many folks are a paycheck away from being homeless! God always said to take care of the poor. We need a write-up of all the agencies where donations are gladly taken and do wonderful work: Grace in Action, STEAC, Davis Community Meals, Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter, etc.! I volunteer at All Things Right & Relevant.

We need solutions, and I have some. The Dream Center (the church that never sleeps!) started Adopt-a-Block to help ministries. My church, The Father’s House, has adopted these ministries in Vacaville. We have 15 blocks now. We knock on doors, telling folks we are with the church and just pass out food once a week at the storehouse where we give food, clothing and help with jobs.

We also have graffiti abatement, school lunch and summer lunch for kids. We also clean up, paint and take care of schools. People are thankful and crime lessens, especially when they see we people cleaning up trash and sweeping up their neighborhood!

We can do all this and more. We can expand STEAC for the neighborhoods, work on graffiti abatement and collect food from farmers and stores. We can bless many and get to know our neighborhoods more. For more information, contact me at www.thedreamcenter.org or TFH.org, for more information about the Father’s House.

There is always an answer!
