Where are the Water Police?

By From page A6 | August 21, 2014

How does one get the attention of the Water Police in Davis? After driving through large puddles every morning while on my way to my morning cup of coffee at Nugget Market near the strip mall by Acorn Veterinary Clinic and Travis Credit Union, I called the city to ask about why the need for daily watering of the asphalt parking lot there.

The nice lady assured me that she would check it out. That was two weeks ago and still the puddles appear each and every morning.

Nothing in the plantings requires that much water, since the large shade trees were removed two years ago and replaced by somewhat pathetic crape myrtles, possibly by someone who has no idea how hot it gets around here.

Maybe a letter in the paper will get someone’s attention. So far, a call to the city hasn’t worked.
