Do you want adequately funded local schools?

That is the question. No exaggeration, deceit or scam in addressing that question. You would like to talk about everything else but that question. Ballot arguments are available to both sides in the mail-in packet. And in the most democratic act of all, you get to vote on it.

Those middle- and high-school kids are watching us and will immediately feel the impact of our decision.

A distraction? I think not. So any means is a justification for the ends?

Suppose some of our middle- or high-school kids are following Measure A. They see the deceitfulness, the scams, the utter exaggerations of proponents. What lesson do they learn?

Not all education occurs in a classroom.

The schools have done right by my kids, and I support this. Yes for Measure A!

This other stuff here is a distraction to what’s really the issue — keeping good local schools.

Can you imagine…a Davis that doesn’t have to lie, cheat, exaggerate, and deceive to pass another tax measure?

Can you imagine…an LWV forum that is honest? An LWV that doesn’t scam the city?

Can you imagine…a school district that doesn’t send mail to seniors asking for their vote for a tax, and simultaneously helping them get out of the tax?

Can you imagine proponents who don’t claim that art, or music, or any other subject, will abruptly disappear from schools should their tax increase not pass?

Imagine.
